A particle-hole model approach for hypernuclei
نویسنده
چکیده
A particle-hole model is developed to describe the excitation spectrum of single Λ hypernuclei and the possible presence of collective effects is explored by making a comparison with the mean-field calculations. Results for the spectra of 12 Λ C , 16 Λ O , 40 Λ Ca , 90 Λ Zr and 208 Λ Pb hypernuclei are shown. The comparison with the available experimental data is satisfactory. We find that collective phenomena are much less important in hypernuclei than in ordinary nuclei. PACS: 21.80.+a

Unitary-model-operator approach to Λ hypernuclei
A method is formulated for the description of lambda hypernuclei in the framework of the unitary-model-operator approach (UMOA). The method is applied to 17 Λ O. A lambda-nucleon effective interaction is derived, taking the coupling of the sigma-nucleon channel into account. The lambda single-particle energies are calculated for the 0s1/2, 0p3/2 and 0p1/2 states employing the Nijmegen soft-core...
متن کاملSpectroscopy of Medium to Heavy Single Λ-Hypernuclei
We develop a method for calculating the doublet splittings of select ground-state single Λ-hypernuclei. This hypernuclear spectroscopy is conducted by supplementing the self-consistent single-particle equations with an effective interaction, which follows directly from the underlying lagrangian, to simulate the residual particlehole interaction. Our previous investigation, performed using only ...

In the present work, the approach of Furnstahl, Serot, and Tang (FST) is extended to the region of nonzero strangeness in application to singleparticle states in single Λ-hypernuclei. To include Λ’s, an additional contribution to their effective lagrangian is systematically constructed within the framework of FST. The relativistic Hartree (Kohn-Sham) equations are solved numerically, and least-...
متن کاملStrangeness-changing response functions: an alternative approach to hypernuclear structure
We study strangeness-changing response functions as an alternative description of hypernuclear structure. Hypernuclear states are treated in the same manner as any other conventional nuclear excitation that emerges from the response of the nuclear ground state to an external probe. The nuclear response is calculated using a random-phase approximation to an effective relativistic mean-field mode...
متن کاملFission of heavy Λ hypernuclei with the Skyrme-Hartree-Fock approach
Fission-related phenomena of heavy Λ hypernuclei are discussed with the constraint Skyrme-Hartree-Fock+BCS (SHF+BCS) method, in which a similar Skyrme-type interaction is employed also for the interaction between a Λ particle and a nucleon. Assuming that the Λ particle adiabatically follows the fission motion, we discuss the fission barrier height of 239 ΛU. We find that the fission barrier hei...
